The use of one loud alarm clock and one annoying alarm clock is an example of an engineering technique called redundant design. Two alarm clocks are placed in different locations; one serves as the primary system, and the other one serves as the back-up system. With two alarm clocks operating separately, the risk of skipping-due-to-involuntary-oversleep has been greatly reduced. Additionally, the effect of unforeseeable battery depletion scenario is minimized because of the back-up system. The failure rate of this design, however, increases exponentially with the shortening of sleeping time.

I have two systems to wake me up as well. However, chances of curing skipping-due-to-voluntary-laziness seem hopeless.. =___=

I have two identical loudness alarm clock as well...
however, i doubt that even 10 alarm clock will work..
since i have the ability of shutting it off and go back to sleep endless times~
